01/12/2025 UPDATE – FUGITIVE: Steven Craig Sumner $25,000 REWARD

Before he ran, Steven Craig Sumner took great pride in his political and pastoral church platform in Madison County, Indiana. Sumner was exposed and caught in 2020 in a case so heinous that those associated with him did not believe his accuser (a child, his victim).

Sumner’s bail was $500. Because of his political ties, a special judge was assigned. That judge did not approve a request for an upgraded bond that considered the other twenty crimes added to Sumner’s criminal charges. Sumner disappeared before his trial and remains on the run.

Below is a list of habits, styles, and other identifying factors to consider while helping to look for Steve Sumner and Sharon Barker (Wood or Bailey; it is unclear what name she goes by or if she has assumed another name while on the run) since she is also facing criminal charges for assisting a fugitive, as defined by I.C. 35-44.1-2-5.

Sharon has grown kids and family, so I would like to appeal to them if they read this. Hiding a fugitive, lying to the police about the fugitive’s whereabouts, and providing the fugitive funds to skip town determine how the state will seek a conviction for assisting a criminal. Given the severity of Sumner’s crimes, the charges will elevate from a class A misdemeanor to a level 6 felony. The longer they run, the harsher the punishment.

Even if you question most charges, as no doubt, Sumner denies those crimes, the FACT remains that the Police found 138 images of child pornography on his phone.

Within weeks of posting bail related to sexual misconduct with minors and possession of child pornography, Sumner began traveling out of state. During that time, Likens Farm in Madison County, Indiana, frequently deposited money into Sumner’s bank account. Even after additional and more serious charges, the deposits continued. This map shows the locations he traveled to; where he may have connections who are willing or unknowingly assisting him.

What we know about Sumner:

• His preferred style is a button-up shirt with a coordinating t-shirt under it.
• Sumner has NO tattoos or birthmarks.
• He drinks large amounts of coffee, especially Bailey’s Irish Cream and Coffee.
• Sumner will probably continue his religious charade to avoid suspicion. He likes to talk about the Bible, particularly the King James Bible.
• Sumner hunts and fishes.
